This Detroit native (and hair goddess) is a graduate from the Detroit School of Arts, the very same school the late Aaliyah claims as alma mater. But after trying her hand at acting after college, she realized that music was where her heart is and thankfully for us, decided to pursue music and singing.

And I say that because when you hear her strong, soulful, but also light, joyous voice, you will agree. And I am not the only one. His royal highness, Prince himself agreed and actually contacted her after hearing her song "Hollow" and worked with on the song "Baltimore."
